that's a fairly harsh punishment. I actually don't think it is, teams like Chelsea, Man U and Tottenham have a habit of stealing players at a young age, then claiming them as products of their academy if they turn out good or throwing them on the rubbish heap if they turn out 'not good enough' which denies other teams of a fairly decent player. Everton aren't entirely innocent either. I did find it a little funny how Moyes criticised Man City for stealing Joleon Lescott, but Everton stole one of our highly rated young England Internationals in Luke Garbutt weeks before. (Which there is going to be a tribunal for on Monday). But basically, I'm glad to see FIFA and UEFA clamp down on things like this, and I really hope a similar punishment is dealt to Man U, as a complaint has been filed against them too.

I know Leeds aren't innocent either, Fabian Delph being the main one that springs to mind, as we stole him from Bradford. But they were properly compensated and given a percentage of the sell-on fee. (As I think their manager of the time, Dave Penny or Paul Jewell, recommended him to us.)
But, it's good to see not all young players are blinded by the glitz and glamour of the premiership clubs. One of our young players Elliott Kebbie, who a few teams are chasing, was said to have visited Manchester United and Everton but decided to stay at Leeds.

It's a good thing they punished Chelsea, but tbh they could prolly punish half of the Premier League teams for doing the same, and that would kill the leagues development for 2 years. No major titles for any english teams then in Europe.
